As I rolled over, my eyes snapped opened, I looked at the alarm clock and sprung out of bed. Oh my God, I’ve overslept. I rush around, grabbing a cup of coffee and proceeded to call work, get ready and out the door I go, with anger, panic and a little suspicion gnawing at me. Anger because I may not have set the alarm. Panic because, I may have to face my boss & co workers or something may be wrong with my health, I don’t normally over sleep, could I being sick? I’m suspicious because there may have been a power outage, either from the utility company or worse yet, a problem in the house. Does any of this sound familiar? How many of you have done this? For those who say never, I’ll challenge you, because a majority of Americans HAVE overslept, and now they are rushing around angry, in a panic and suspicion while trying to make up for that lost time.
I would venture to say, that a majority of Americans are angry, and in most cases, I feel they have a good reason to be. However, as Bear (@MaggsBear) wrote, “We’re oppressed by fears we don’t want to admit and the anger that fear breeds. In the end, it is that anger that will defeat us. It is eroding our values, our principles and our faith in our way of life.” HOWEVER, with all the targets of our anger that are out there, why is the prime target of anger is never mentioned? That target can be seen just about everyday, every time you look into a mirror.
Yes, every good American should be angry at themselves, after all did the current destruction of Americajust begin in 2009? Did it begin in 2006? 2000? NO, it has been going on for many years, some will say over a hundred years, others will say fifty years, while others will say twenty years. Who can put an exact date on it? All I can say, is it is not new.
One of the targets, of this anger (and I can see why), is the education system. Does any one really think it began its “anti American” curriculum in 1990? The 1980’s? Did it begin with the establishment of the Department of Education in 1979? No, it has slowly been infiltrated as far back as the 1930’s if not before, yet people are angry because the students are not being taught the basics. People are angry because their children are being indoctrinated, not taught. Whose fault is it, the NEA, the Federal Government or is every parent who had children in school? Where was the outrage of the violation of the 10th amendment, the lawsuits when the Federal government took over the educational system? Didn’t the 10th amendment exist back in 1979, or were people “just to busy”? Did these parents take an interest in what their children were learning or were these parents just interested in their children’s participation in sports, In the hopes of getting that million dollar sports contract? Who should you really be angry at?
Another target of anger is the Federal Government, particularly Congress and again it is well deserved. Again is this new? Most people say we have elites in Congress, career politicians who have lost touch with the people they are suppose to serve. Yet those same people have continued to reelect them or worst of all didn’t bother to vote; NOW these same people are angry. Yes, we are dangerously close to becoming an oligarchy, yes some of these critters are being replaced, but it is also getting to a point where it might too late; I pray not.
Along with anger comes suspicion and as quoted earlier concerning anger, “It is eroding our values, our principles and our faith in our way of life.” It can be applied to suspicion. This suspicion leads to distrust of our government, organizations, and worst of all, each other.
Now, suspicions can not only be a curse, but a blessing. As a blessing, IT should lead people to stop and think, and in this day of the internet, check things out. Unfortunately, it is a curse, a curse because this is not what’s happening; instead too many people listen to some charismatic talk show host or read some internet site and accept whatever they say as if it is divine knowledge. They close their minds and don’t fact check what they have heard or read. These same people, when presented with different information containing facts and even references, will find excuses or just will not accept it simply because it doesn’t come from some “personality” or some “talking head” But they will blindly accept something they read on the web. Do these people, who will not or do not accept other information, other points of view, not realize that the real enemies of America can use this suspicion to distract from what’s really going on?
Just as when a person has overslept, the American people have PANICED! This panic may or may not be justified. Panic can and does lead people not to think clearly, not look at the facts and if they don’t look at facts, how can they make rational decisions. Not making rational decisions, people are easily lead by someone, who will take advantage of this “irrational” state of mind. Look at the election of 2008, panic over the “crash” lead people to elect someone because, he had the “solution”. How’s that “solution” working for you?
That a look at the subject of Agenda 21 when it was introduced by Glenn Beck a few years back, people panicked, websites sprung up featuring petitions or letters that called on the Senate not to ratify the treaty. There was one slight problem, these people acting in a state of panic allowed their emotions overrule their common sense, they didn’t bother to check the facts, they didn’t make a rational decision, they just did what they were told. If they would have checked the facts, they would have found, THERE WAS NO TREATY! Then, when someone takes time, backs off, does some real research, puts the facts together, presents it in a rational way, people will choose to ignore this or any additional information. Do they prefer to stay in a state of panic?
The same state of panic occurs at the very mention of the recently passed NDAA. Even well known talk show hosts fueled this panic. Why? Did they encourage this panic for ratings or is it for some kind of control? I don’t know, but I do know that this panic created has closed people’s minds. Most people do not or will not accept what is actually written in the law (Please see Section 1022 (b) APPLICABILITY TO UNITEDSTATES CITIZENS AND LAWFUL RESIDENT ALIENS). They will even disbelieve someone who was there and who these most of these people claim to admire, Lt. Col. Allan West (Ret.), now member of the House.
America has overslept, a lot of people are in a state of panic, they are angry and they are suspicious, frankly they and I have every right to be. Yes, some of the people are slowly waking up. Although they are awake, they are still rushing around making excuses and not come to realizing, that like everyone who has overslept, it is most likely their own fault.
Like the person who overslept, he/she may not have set the alarm or he/she may have turned off the alarm and rolled over and went back to sleep. I feel this is the same thing that has happened in America. People didn’t pay attention; they were, for lack of a better word, naïve, thinking that it couldn’t happen here. They didn’t take an interest in what was going on around them, in their own communities, their own schools. People will make excuses, just like they’ll make excuses to their boss for being late. However, is any excuse acceptable? Will a majority of bosses accept an excuse, or will he accept the truth?
I realize that back in the days before the internet, the sources of information were different, BUT does that mean that a parent couldn’t look at the school books their children were using in school. Does that mean the parent couldn’t attend P.T.A. meetings, Parent – Teachers meetings? Does that mean that people couldn’t get out to VOTE? What excuse is acceptable? I feel there isn’t any but like anyone I am willing to hear yours.
