The Voice of Freedom and Warning
Obama the would be Monarch
Unfortunately for President Obama America is not ruled by a Monarch, we are led by a President that is elected every four years and is now limited to two terms of office. An elected President is sworn by his oath of office to uphold and follow the Constitution of the United States. “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”. President Obama has in his first four years in office shown a propensity to bypass the Constitution and Congress to achieve his intended goals. The list of these aggressions is too long to post here but some of the more controversial moves have been The Affordable Care Act otherwise known as ObamaCare part of which was struck down by the Supreme Court as unconstitutional. Congress was bypassed on the Internet regulations by having the FCC enforce new regulations controlling the way Internet service providers manage their network transmissions. He failed in his duty to enforce existing laws by directing the Department of Justice to not defend the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). He also instructed the DOJ to not enforce parts of the immigration laws that he and his administration didn’t agree with when the “DREAM Act” failed. He also tried but failed to enact the “Employee Free Choice Act” that would have forced employers to make available to union organizers the email addresses and phone numbers of its employees. His attempt to control the National Labor Relations Board was stymied when his unconstitutional appointment of three union heads and Richard Cordray as head of the board as Recess Appointments while Congress was still officially in session. This was deemed unconstitutional by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. ruled the appointments as totally unconstitutional in Noel Canning v. NLRB no. 12-1115. These are just a few of his transgressions against the Constitution and Congress. President Obama is also guilty of ignoring Congressional requests for information concerning the Fast and Furious and Benghazi investigations and shielding key witnesses by evoking Executive Privilege.
President Obama has been touted by the Media and his supporters as being a notable Constitutional Law Professor, in reality he was titled as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Chicago. In academia there is a vast difference between the two titles. His lecturing covered Constitutional Law so he is fully aware of the limits to the Office of the Presidency so it becomes very apparent that these breaches of constitutional law are not by ignorance but by design. It is mandated that the President present a national budget every year and Obama has failed in this responsibility also. His arrogance offends me as well as most thinking people. The next area he is expected to use his executive powers to bypass the constitution and congress will undoubtedly be on gun control. In 2005 he voted against the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (S.397), July 15, 2007 Senator Obama supported to permanently reinstate the Assault Weapons Ban. In 2008 he stated he was against the legal right to carry a concealed weapon. His record is clear in that he opposes the constitutional rights guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment. Without the worry of a second term now look for President Obama and his cohorts to push the limits and go beyond those limits during the next four years. The only way to stop this trampling of the constitution and the intentional bypassing of congress is for Congress itself to stand up for the laws that have guided America since its founding. A monarch has no limits on his power but a sitting President of the United States does and President Obama must be compelled by lawmakers to stay within those limits. Only time will tell if those elected will have the courage to stop this would be monarch.
