What's up with the clean slate?

Did we do an archive purge? The page certainly does load a lot faster. That's a plus!

Depending on who your server host is, technical support is most likely available.

I'd like to help you out, but it's been a while for me and I had similar issues running my own sites. Sometimes the simplest things are the ones that give you the most trouble.

I never liked WordPress, but it's one of those things you have to live with if you're going to run Intense Debate.

Plugins and apps are like clothes. They tell you that "one size fits all", but "actual experiences may vary".

Keep plugging away at it. I'm sure you'll get it figured out eventually. GB's 912 site used to crash with predictable regularity, you'll recall. That was an archiving issue as well. Whenever it got to 30,000 comments you knew the site was going to lock up.

If you want to bounce any ideas off of me, you can shoot me an email. I've still got all my computer science books on the shelf.

OK, that thread on gun control is getting too small to read…let's continue here folks….

I am happy to see a good debate going on with this issue…..

Let's look at a country that actually did a gun ban and what happened to crime rates…..

Gun control may stop decent people from having guns, but it never seems to keep criminals from wanting to prey on victims.

i'm still waiting to hear from any republicans how they plan on dismantling Obamacare.

And the crickets are starting to get tired….

    What happened?

SOA's s[ow[y coming back. Good deal.

Meanwhile, Congress is cooking up some more symbolism w/ a "bill" to defund Planned MURDERhood.

I call it symbolism because it will be vetoed by Barack Insane Obama the moment it would ever get to the WH. And the GOP leadershit KNOWS it!

I'm calling their bluff. IF Congress is being SINCERE about defunding PP, they will simply NOT include it in the next FY US Budget.

    Here's the scenarios:

    1. The "bill" will simply die. The leadershit would say, "Hey, folks. We tried!". It then gets funded.

    2. PP does NOT get included in the next FY Budget. The dems, lead by Obama and THEIR liberal dominant media start yelling how the repubs want a…(wait for it)…GOVT SHUTDOWN! This has the same effect as exposing the sunlight to Dracula! The GOP will ONCE AGAIN cave in. I could already here those morons, Boehner and McConnell, saying, "We will NOT shutdown the govt over this…"

Either way, I SEE Planned MURDERhood gets funded.

    Am I wrong?

Just another exercise of futility, this is what politicians do best. BLUFF !

    • Roger says:

      Congress is a failed legislature.

They don't write the laws. They allow the dictator to have his EPA punish us, and they do nothing. It's all about the regime and the powers they seize. Boehner and McConnell need to go before anyone has any confidence that the opposition will actually do anything.

      • Luis522 says:

Roger, if it were simply about "power" they (the Legislative and Executive Branches) would never work so hard, and put up w/ all the pressure, over it. After all, it's only "their" power — only while they're in office. No. It's ALL about DOLLAR BILLS, ya'll! Lobby/corporate PACs.

And it's the same on BOTH sides! These PACs, be they Left or Right, all want the same thing. INFLUENCE over govt itself! You know. An oligarchy.

McCain spent over $20 million to keep his seat in the Senate, money means nothing if they don't have our throats under their boots.

I'm just saddened that we two are here discussing this as a reality in our time.
The Founding Fathers knew this day would happen and we can't force the solution at the state level, an Article 5 convention of the states Mark Levine Style.

Hitler was a big talker, the Germans followed him and were deceived.
Trump is a big talker, will Americans follow him too?
    Words mean nothing, actions do.

  9. Roger says:

He has lived a life of success.

Can you say the same for Hitler or anyone else? Bush? Christie? They all have been out of touch with the normal folks for far to long, not so with Trump.

His backbone to bring up subjects like illegal immigrants causing crimes isn't just words, it's an indicator of character.
